ELDER MELISSA MOORE
Fierce…the one word Elder Melissa Morris uses to describe herself. Morris not only has a fierce personality but also a fierce determination to accomplish her purpose. She was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida as one of nine children with two brothers and six sisters. In 1995, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Two years later in 1997, Morris was ordained into the ministry at New Covenant Christian Ministries, in Pensacola, Florida, under the tutelage of Pastors Ross and Sharon Knight. In 2003, she earned her Associate of Science degree in General Studies and followed in 2005 by receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology both from Troy University. In 2015, Elder Morris’ life experienced a turning point shifting her into her divine purpose. She attended a Spiritual Gifts Class at Kingdom Builders Ministries International, under the leadership of Apostle L.R. and Pastor Jennifer Gooden. She discovered her gifts, purpose and calling into the prophetic prayer and deliverance ministry. A year later, she became a member of Powerhouse Assembly of God, serving under the leadership of Apostle Bruce and Pastor Cheryl Gulley. Shortly after, she became the ministry’s Prayer Team Leader. In 2017, Morris attended the School of the Prophets at Christian International in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida to develop her knowledge of the prophetic and spiritual growth. One year later in 2018, she was elevated to the office of Elder in the Lord’s church. That same year, she founded One With God Prayer Ministry, dedicated to prayer, deliverance, spiritual growth, and community outreach. She also shares her passion for prayer three times a week with her 3 AM Prayer Call. In 2019, Morris decided to use her God-given anointing to help others discover their own gifts to function in their purpose. She facilitated her first Spiritual Gifts Class at Powerhouse Assembly of God. Since then, she has facilitated several classes at various area ministries. Additionally, she is visionary of the Women Rise Up conference. Morris believes in the power of seeking God first. “My belief is God desires for all of us to go into a deeper place of prayer, not just touch things on the surface.” Elder Morris is also dedicated her first ministry, her family. She is proud mother of two children, a son, Denarian Bickham, daughter Daishia Laster, and two grandchildren, Mhani Dale and Tony McGee.
